Self stock take

A humble human, indeed I am,

A heart so big, it breaks the dam.

There are however the odd times,

When I may, unknowing, cross the line.

But never do I dare neglect,

To pause and stop and self reflect.

For words and actions can come quick,

With emotions high, they tend to prick.

It’s there within, the lesson lay,

Can you learn then, from your way?

Was it right? Or was it wrong?

Does your sorry take too long?

Are you humble? Or are you cheek?

Humility does not make one weak!

Sit and be, and self reflect,

And try in earnest, to not reject,

The truthful whispers of your soul,

The unbiased answer of the poll.

It isn’t weak to self assess, 

It’s how we do become our best.

Defences down, and mind in check,

Compassion standing on the deck.

So please, I ask, you often make,

The time to do a self stock take.
